Raja Surajmal Singh — Great Jat King

Maharaja Surajmal Singh

Jat King of Bharatpur (1707–1763)

Our Inspiration

Maharaja Surajmal — Jat Pride

Maharaja Surajmal (1707–1763) was the greatest warrior-statesman of the Jat community. The king of Bharatpur established a powerful Jat kingdom in northern India during the decline of the Mughal Empire.

He captured the Red Fort of Delhi in 1753 and provided refuge to the Marathas after the Battle of Panipat (1761). His diplomatic genius and military prowess made him one of the most respected rulers of 18th-century India.

His capital Lohagarh Fort in Bharatpur was so impregnable that even the British failed to conquer it. Surajmal is often called the "Plato of the Jats" — a king who was both a warrior and a scholar. He is an eternal source of inspiration for the Jat community.

"The pride of the Jat community, an exemplar of bravery and sacrifice — Maharaja Surajmal."
